Original Antique Book Plate Illustration, it came from an 1844 First Edition of A Practical Treatise on Midwifery (The cover and first several dozen pages were almost completely destroyed...) I rescued this illustrations from the book.

This is Plate XL (40). The Bookplate Illustration is blank on the back side. Marked Moreau in the upper left corner, Plate 40 in theupper right, On Stone by S. Cichowski (faded) on the lower left, Philadelphia, Published by Carey & Hart on lower center, and P.S. Duval, Lith. Phila. on bottom right.

The Illustration is rather large, measuring appx. 9 3/4" Wide by 12 1/2" Tall, and was carefully removed from it's book.

Condition is Very Good / Excellent, with No Rips, No Tears, Very Little Foxing, Very Few Small Stains. Little Age Discoloration and Light Staining along Page Edges.
