Around the Globe in 190 Days
A client purchased an item from us and we shipped it out on August 23rd, 2004, and after about a month of waiting patiently, he contacted us, wondering where his item was...
We were surprised to hear it had not arrived, and since he had not purchased shipping insurance, there was little action we could take. All I could do was offer him proof that I mailed the item, by showing him the electronic postage receipt.
He had understood, and given-up at that point. We tried to console him, with an offer of a discount off another purchase, but alas... he would not be content without his original purchase.
Well, the weeks and months went by, summer turned to autumn, then to winter... in fact, one hundred and ninety days had passed...
And just as thoughts of spring had begun to dance in our heads, we received the following email:
Wes, I could not believe it, but today (March 1st) the item you mailed to me on August 23rd finally arrived in the mail. The mailing envelope was quite grimy, in fact it looked like it had been trampled upon or run over.. and the back appears to have a big shoeprint on it... but the contents were fine... I am glad you took the care to wrap the map in plastic as well or it may have been ruined... I was very pleased to finally receive it. I figured I would never see it. I thought you would like to know that I got it. It makes me wonder where it was all this time...
